Reserves
The Montpelier Police Department also has a Reserve Police Unit. This unit is comprised of volunteer officers who may either be OPOTA certified or non-certified. With experience ranging from former full-time officers to those just beginning a career, the reserves assist the full-time officers in many ways. Reserves ride with on-duty patrol, conduct traffic control at special events and do many community oriented activities. Althouth part of the Montpelier Police Department, the reserve unit is self-governing with it's own set of by-laws and ranking members. You may apply to the reserve unit by downloading and submitting an application. The application and required paperwork can be found by clicking on the "FORMS" link above.
