Welcome to the Village of Montpelier Web Page.

We are pleased to have you visit our fine community's Web site. Montpelier is a progressive Village with a "city management" form of government. The village is served with excellent utilities including our own low cost electric distribution system. We have a solid industrial nucleus and have an excellent location, with several major East-West and North-South highways, which include the Ohio Turnpike. Recreational facilities include our municipal swimming pool featuring a 150-foot waterslide, a roller skating rink, and three challenging 18-hole golf courses located within a ten-mile radius of Montpelier. We have superb cultural entertainment provided by the Williams County Playhouse and Williams County Historical Museum, both of which are located in the Village. The Williams County Fairgrounds is also located in Montpelier, which plays host to the Williams County Fair every year. The citizens of Montpelier are proud of their strong historic past and are committed to preparing for the future. We certainly hope that you find your web visit to Montpelier gratifying and enriched.

A letter from the Mayor Mike Long...

I believe in the future of Montpelier, with a faith born not of words but of deeds - achievements won by the present and past generations of citizens; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years.

I believe that to live and work in Montpelier is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of small town life and hold an inborn fondness for such.

I believe in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in our ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as we can secure, and in the ability of progressive leadership to serve our own and the public interest in marketing our community.

I believe that Montpelier can and will hold true to the best traditions of its past and that we can exert an influence in our homes and community which will stand solid for our part in that inspiring task.
